LEADING FACULTY
Hon. Rtd. Justice Joyce Aluoch, EBS, CBS
A former Judge and First Vice-President of the International Criminal Court at The Hague, The Netherlands (9yrs). She was the second woman Court of Appeal and High Court Judge and Magistrate in Kenya (June 1974-January 2009). Upon retirement from the bench, Justice Aluoch successfully moved her legal profession to Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms, particularly mediation. She is a Certified International Mediator (IMI), Accredited Mediator (CEDR)- London, a Certified Advanced Mediator, and a Chartered Mediator. She has a Certificate in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, and is an Accredited trainer with a Certificate of Accreditation in mediation training (London).
Dr. Edward Mungai
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Development) at Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya. The role involves spearheading the University’s strategy, fundraising, alumni, and development activities among others. He is also a faculty member at Strathmore University Business School focusing on entrepreneurship, family business and innovation. He is a member of the Ethics Commission for Co-operative Societies (ECCOS) of Kenya, an accredited mediator of SDRC and a past chairperson of the Association of African Business Schools, among others.
Dr. Francis Kariuki
A Lecturer at Strathmore Law School, a Director of the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre, an accredited mediator by the Mediation Accreditation Committee (MAC) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He has researched and published widely on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms (ADR) and traditional justice mechanisms.
